Adult-led Nursery Activities
Every day we plan different nursery activities to help educate your child and develop their learning and understanding. Our staff are extremely creative when planning activities that your child will enjoy.
Through adult-led activities we can introduce children to new ideas, provide opportunities for them to develop their skills and ensure that they experience all seven areas of learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
All our nursery activities are designed to aid in the development of the seven areas of learning (find out more information on the seven areas by clicking here).
Every month we post the children's favourite activity that they were involved in.
'There are lots of activities, I even felt the urge to participate in them'

Child-led Nursery Activities
"Children learn through first-hand experiential activities with the serious business of ‘play’"
The children are also encouraged to come up with their own activities to help develop their imagination. It is important to balance adult-led learning with time and opportunity for children to explore their own ideas, play with resources and use their imagination and creativity.
Through this children are able to take control of their learning and apply it to different situations.
Some child-led activities are supported by adults in order for 'sustained shared thinking' to take place.
An example of the role of the adult in child-initiated learning is to:
- organise the physical environment so children have access to a wide range of interesting open-ended resources to explore and investigate imaginatively
- develop an emotional environment where children feel safe to share their thoughts and ideas and try things out without being afraid that they might ‘get things wrong’
